Our Story
The story of Christian and Julia started on the 12th of August, 2022 at Andrew and Nathalia's wedding.
They both arrived having recently left long term relationships and had no expectations of meeting each other. That night they shared a few dances, a few glances, Julia even caught the bouquet! At the end of the party, they parted ways with Christian managing to snag Julia's number cheekily.
Christian started texting Julia to try to get to know her, but Julia was no easy sell. He would message her and the conversation would start flowing, but just as quickly as it started, it would die out. After a month of text phone tag, Christian decided it was time to take action. Under the pretext of visiting London Business School (he did in fact attend a two hour seminar, folks!), he bought plane tickets to go see about a girl. Julia was surprised to see Christian come to London and want to meet with her. Having nothing to lose, she agreed to go on that first date.
The first date was the spark that propelled the rest of the story on a zipline of adventure. They instantaneously hit it off, sharing values, interests, spirituality, and core spirits/approaches to life. The evening lasted 8 hours and could have lasted longer had the tube stations not closed at 1am. With the help of Andrew and Nathalia (who had come to visit from The North) and Weronika (from Poland), Julia and Christian managed to go on two more dates before Christian had to fly back to the US. As they were parting ways, Christian knew it was now or never - he made his intentions clear to Julia, who cautiously agreed to start dating Christian long distance.
Over the next year, they travelled many times from the US to Europe, with Julia spending some time in the US and Christian in the UK and Poland. They met each other's families, friends, even made some friends of their own. The distance was hard, but they both knew they had something special that was worth the fight. The pivotal point was when Julia came to spend a month in the US and Christian a month and a half in the UK and in Poland. This gave them a whole summer in person, where they fell deeper in love and solidified their desire to spend the rest of their lives together.
Christian went back to the US in September, 2023 and began working on getting the ring. By October, he was on a flight with the ring in his pocket! However, upon his arrival, they were on a flight to Poland since Julia's dad was dealing with ongoing health issues. Despite the difficult conditions, Christian managed to ask and receive Julia's dad's blessing for the proposal. After a few days, they managed to stow away for a date in Old Town Warsaw. Imperfect, amidst difficult circumstances, but with a lot of love, Christian proposed to Julia on the 13th of October, 2023.
They plan on getting married on the 11th of July of 2024 and are excited to have you share the joyous day with them soon!
